The village of Poolewe is set amongst some of the most magnificent scenery in Britain. It is a good base to get around by car, from the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve to the old fishing village of Ullapool, or by foot with many good walks and climbs. Several sandy beaches, fishing, golf, putting and boat trips are all close by. There are two hotels where meals are available, local shops and Post Office (with public telephone), heated swimming pool and, not to forget, the famous Inverewe Gardens with self-service restaurant.
